A Night of Triumph and Empowerment

The coronation marked the culmination of months of preparation, during which finalists participated in empowerment workshops covering life skills, professional etiquette, public speaking, and community service.

Boitumelo Molotsana was crowned first princess, with Kutlwano Zingitwa taking the second princess title.

A Legacy of Empowerment

Founded in 1979 by Ralph Zikalala and Leonard Sithole, the Miss Soweto Pageant continues to be Soweto's most iconic platform for women's empowerment. The pageant, proudly sponsored by White Star Super Maize Meal, has launched the careers of notable South African women including Basetsana Khumalo and Lerato Kganyago.

The White Star Miss Soweto Pageant continues to grow from strength to strength, with each edition drawing record entries and deeper community engagement. Under the management of Collin Sithole, the pageant remains true to its founding vision of empowering young women.

What Lies Ahead

Looking forward, the Miss Soweto Pageant will continue to expand its empowerment programmes, reaching more young women across Soweto and beyond. Entries for the 48th edition are expected to open in mid-2026.
